Purple Thereaputics Q and A

Purple Thereputics is a simple basic online system designed to help you reach the first incremental step towards your full flourishing or goals. Here are a few questions and answers.

Q: What is the particular expertise and focus of Purple Therapeutics?

A: Founders Tim Burns and Dr. Joe Tadie hold graduate degrees in philosophy and have years of professional experience leading in-person guided classes focused on reading texts, critical thinking, and uncovering personal meaning. Our aim is to take some of these most universal and broad concepts and apply them to an online system to be used by as many people as possible.

Q: Are there any things that this system does not cover?

A: This system is not a replacement for professional therapy. It is only meant to be used as a complement to other forms of help and should never be used as a replacement for medical advice. People experiencing suicidal ideation, depression, bipolar conditions, schizophrenia, hearing voices, eating disorders, and other serious mental syndromes should immediately seek professional medical help from a licensed therapist or doctor. Additionally, this system does not address addiction or substance abuse. It is also not suitable for addressing serious legal issues such as domestic violence or child custody cases. In all of these cases, it is best to seek the advice of a professional.

Q: Why is it called Purple Therapeutics?

A: We chose the word "therapeutics" because our ultimate goal is like all true therapeutics: to cause people to feel happier, healthier, and more relaxed. For us, purple is the color of royalty and stands as a symbol of personal growth and mind expansion between ideological conceptions commonly associated with red and blue colors.

Q: What are the origins of the ideas in Purple Therapeutics?

A: Many of these ideas have their roots in early Greek and Hebraic thinking and have been filtered through centuries of thought to filter up to our present-day self-help and personal growth literature. Regarding self-help, the most influential source is Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle. This work, written in 350 BC, is still considered one of the most important texts in ethical philosophy and has since been taught in countless universities as the cornerstone of classical thought. We have used this text to inspire our own ideas within Purple Therapeutics. As such, you will find that many of its foundational concepts are based on Aristotle's beliefs about how to live a life of Flourishing, Love, and Growth.

Q: What can Purple Therapeutics do for people?

A: Purple Therapeutics can help people gain clarity on their identity, create meaning in their lives, and develop healthier habits. It also helps to unlock creativity and pursue passion projects that bring joy into one's life. Ultimately, it is a system designed to give everyone the tools they need for self-discovery and personal growth.
